The MetLife Preferred Dentist Program (PDP), our dental preferred provider organization (DPPO), helps lower1 benefit plan costs through aligning with the latest market trends, dental research and treatment protocols as well as negotiated fees, rigorous selection and retention, and a benefits delivery platform that delivers consistent and accurate payments.

- VisionSavings Eyecare Program5 offers employees discounts on vision care services and laser vision correction surgery (including LASIK and PRK procedures).
Managed Dental Plans, including Dental HMO (DHMO) plans in California, Florida, New Jersey and Texas and Dental Managed Care plans in New York. Employer groups with two to nine employees in these states also have the option to select a stand-alone Dental HMO/Managed Care benefits plan.

- Co-payments apply for many covered procedures and vary by procedure.
- Deductible waived for diagnostic and preventive services for plan 1 and 2. Plan number 2 is not available in Mississippi and Texas.
- Groups with no prior dental coverage or without acceptable evidence of prior dental coverage can only choose plan 3.
- Out-of-network benefits are payable for services rendered by a dentist who is not a participating provider. The Reasonable & Customary charge is based on the lowest of (1) the dentist's actual charge, (2) the dentists usual charge for the same or similar services or (3) the charge of most dentists of similar training and experience in the same geographical area for the same or similar services as determined by MetLife.
